Quality Characters

Start by watching or reading The Paper Bag Princess. Pay attention to CHARACTER TRAITS. Use your interactive reading notebook (IRNB) character traits list to help you detail the traits of the characters in this book.

SUper Settings

Picture
Authors use pictures and words to describe the TIME, PLACE, & ENVIRONMENT of their stories. This helps us understand the text better and gives us clues about the details and important events in each story. BEFORE reading/watching
Train to Somewhere, make predictions on when, where, and the environment of the story based on the book cover. Then, finish the story.

Changes in Setting

In many books, setting changes from scene to scene, having a significant impact on the text meaning and outcome of the story. Take notes on setting changes in the beginning, middle, and end of the story,
An Angel for Solomon Singer.  For each part of the story, comment on how the change in setting impacted the story.
