What's in YOUR Suitcase?

We want to get to know each other better! Let's pack our suitcases for some getting-to-know-you FUN!

Picture
The informational letter with instructions was sent home with all students this past Friday. Attached to the letter should have been an empty paper school supplies bag and a baggie containing a name tag and zip tie to attach the tag to one of the bag handles.  This is a great activity that my students have LOVED year after year. "Packed" suitcases are due THIS WEDNESDAY, September 2nd.

NOTES:
  1. If your child did NOT order supplies from PTO (and therefore did not have a supply bag), just use an empty paper handled bag (such as a Sunset Foods bag).
  2. Please put your child's NAME on the luggage tag provided.
  3. Please note the directions for items INSIDE -vs- OUTSIDE of the bags.
  4. If you have any questions, please email me: petlak.lindsey@gmail.com for the fastest response.
  5. See below for a sneak peek at finished suitcases from year passed! SO FUN!

Continued Doodle-fun Frenzy!

I've had several students already rush to finish this little project and GO ALL OUT because they loved the creative task so much. First, please know that we do hands-on creative learning activities and extensions all year long. If your kiddo can't wait, let me recommend Doodle Crate for your child's voracious creativity. I've had numerous friends and past students who loved creative projects try Doodle Crate and rave. They are great for anytime use after school and on weekends, holidays, or special occasion gifts for endless crafty fun!

We are seriously cruisin' through some awesome, but challenging, curriculum here on Route #125!  Below are a few helpful links for you to get a small peek at what we're doing in class.

Also, don't forget to check out your child's ALEKS pie practice and progress to track their math activities.

IT4Explore Website

This collaborative website was created and is used by all three 4th grade classrooms. So far, we have engaged in 2 primary simulations through this site:

1) The Great Depression (Ordinary People in Extraordinary Times)
2) Black History & Civil Rights (Champions of Change)

We have finished our Great Depression (Midwest focus) unit/projects and our Champions of Change (civil rights, Southeast) exploration is in full swing. See the elements and resources associated with these two inquiry and project-based "WEBQUESTS" at the links below!!!
